St.
Martin of Tours' Christian Women's Society: Coordinators: Denise Finagan, Rita Reavey and Linda Monteforte
The
Christian Women's Society of St. Martin of and St. Paul is an organization
dedicated to welcoming and extending our hospitality to all the people in our
community. They
strive to enrich our community by corporal and spiritual works of mercy. They
help our parish community celebrate the times and seasons of the Church. They
continue the mission of mercy begun by Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives with
us and reigns in our hearts forever and ever. The Christian Women's Society of St. Martin of Tours' and St. Paul's Churches meet the first Tuesday of every month. This group
of Christian woman is active in many ways throughout our parish and
community. Although the numerous activities undertaken by this group would
extend this page beyond reason, it is worth mentioning one of the most
thoughtful activities done for our sons and daughters who are away at
college. Each year, at the end of April, just before final exams begin, a
card with a handwritten message is sent to each letting them know that we are
remembering them in our prayers and wishing them well during their exams. Eucharistic Ministers: Coordinartor: Susan Watson-DavisMinisters of Holy Communion
serve the community of believers by connecting them further to the Eucharistic food.
These ministers of communion are a sign of our communal pledge to serve one another.
They allow others to experience the presence of Christ and at the same time build up
the Body of Christ in unity and love. Lectors: Coordinator: Fr. Ken SeegarLectors are
called forth from among the community and are formed to proclaim the word of God
in such a way that it touches the hearts of the assembly and challenges them to
live that word. The word proclaimed is not merely a human message but, as St.
Paul says, “the word of God at work within you who believe.” Lectors give the
word life for the community.
Parish Pastoral Council: Coordinator: Fr. Ken SeegarOur parish has established a council made up of pastor and parishioners to help guide and reshape our parish community. Called for by the Second Vatican Council, the role of the Parish Pastoral Council is, through ongoing pastoral planning, to maintain the integrity of the parish mission. Within this model, programs and events continue to take place in the parish through the efforts of many dedicated parishioners, always in the context of the parish mission and its pastoral plan. Members of the Council are asked to be visionaries, guiding the parish in its mission of salvation. Each adult member of our parish is eligible for this ministry. Annually in the June of each year new members are selected for the Council. Please consider submitting your name to Father for a part in this important ministry. Our Parish Partoral Council:
Parish Finance Council: Coordinator: Fr. Ken Seegar
Our Parish Finance Council:
Altar Servers: Coordinators: Ruth Zeck and Fr. Ken SeegarThe ministry of service at the Table of the Lord is open to all who desire to serve the community at Weekend Eucharist. These ministers are called upon to prepare the table so that the assembly can gather for the celebration and reception of the Eucharist. Habitat for Humanity; Coordinated by Christian Women’s Association and Men’s ClubHabitat for Humanity is a non-profit, ecumenical Christian organization, which works in partnership with God and individuals, churches, companies, and foundations to rehabilitate or build decent housing. These houses are then sold to needy partnership families at no profit and with no interest. Habitat holds the mortgages to these homes with the payment recycled to build more homes. Habitat
brings people from all walks of life together to put their faith into action
by making affordable, decent housing and better communities a reality for
everyone. Men's Club: Coordinator: Fr. Ken SeegarOur parish Men's Club gathers monthly to plan and schedule events to care for our buildings and grounds. If interested
in volunteering your time and talents call Fr. Seegar at the rectory. |
